The Wat Umong Suanbuddhadhamma Meditation Canter was founded for the propagation of theoretical and practical Buddhism, and for the promotion of peace to happiness among all human beings. The center was officially acknowledged as the seventh provincial meditation canter in 2008 by Royal Thai Sangha Organization. The center is a forest monastery at the the foothills of Doi Suthep that all meditators are invited to retreat and practice among peacefully natural surroundings.
Activities
- Bhuddism meditation The center always teaches and supports for Bhuddism meditation (Vipassanā meditation) that is based on the Four Foundations (Satipaṭṭhāna 4) of mindfulness, in accordance with nature.
- Bhuddism preaching The center always preaches and explains all about Bhuddism (Dhamma) for Thais and foreigners.
Prepararation
- Please Bring and wear your clean white shirt and pants. (no tight pants and shirts)
- Please bring your belongings such as soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, watch, razor, shaving cream, etc.
- Please bring any medication to need during the course of meditation.
Registration
- If possible, you should send E-mail or call before you arrive here.
- Please show your ID Card or passport.
- Please completely fill in an application form.
- If you require a certificate of course completion (for stay more 7 days), please inform us before you start the course.
Rules and Responsibilities
- You must have good physical and mental health.
- You must have faith in the practice of meditation.
- You must be pleased to adjust for new environment.
- You must be respectfully, respectfully prepared to live in modest lifestyle.
- You must obey and follow the instruction of all monks and officers in the center.
- Please do not smoke cigarette, drink liquor or use any addictive drug.
- Please do not mobile phone or electronic devices.
- Please always keep silence and calmly control your body and mind.
- Please avoid to chat with others.
- Please act politely in a good manner.
- Please specifically read all meditation books or books that are provided in the center.
- If you have any urgent task or responsibility,please inform any monk or the officer before you go out.
| Practitioners are prohibited from leaving the temple. Every time they go outside, they must ask for permission first. (The temple gates open at 5:00 am. and close at 8:00 pm.) |
